ABOUT ME

My paintings combine color, textures and shapes into multiple abstract layers that can be reinterpreted by each viewer and pull from each one’s personal stories and images.

The variety of subjects and visual styles reflect the complexity of our time, with an abundance of images freely pushed to us and an increased difficulty to choose from an infinite set of possibilities.

I listen to music while painting and like to let the music take control on the direction, energy and mood of the painting. I like to alternate between the raw energy and attitude of punk, the geometric variations of jazz, the textures and gradients of electronic music and the colourful artificial jungles of exotica.

I’ve always been painting as a form of meditation and a way to satisfy my endless need to create. In the past 10 years, I started to develop my practice more seriously, having a dedicated studio and trying to channel my work into series of inter-related pieces.
